How do these drops with two humectants work?

These dual-formula eye drops provide intense and persistent hydration. As soon as the drop is applied, the user feels a very pleasant sensation of relief, freshness and comfort, and a reduction in the symptoms of moderate to severe dry eye, that is, stinging, a sensation of dry, tired or irritated eyes or of a foreign body, or excessively watery eyes. The drops are tolerated well and are easy to use. They do not cause blurred vision.

In what cases are they recommended?

The gel texture, the presence in the formula of two humectants (0.30% hyaluronic acid and hydroxyethylcellulose) and, especially, the high concentration of hyaluronic acid (0.30%) make these drops very suitable for people who have symptoms of moderate to severe dry eye. These can stem from various factors, such as prolonged computer, tablet or cellphone use, spending time in very dry environments such as shopping centres and heated or air-conditioned places, wind, pollution, dust and certain hormonal imbalances (such as the menopause).

These moisturising drops can be used whenever needed because they contain no preservatives. They are easy to use, well-tolerated and totally safe, and do not cause blurred vision. They are especially suitable in the case of sensitive or allergic eyes and can also help relieve the symptoms of chronic dry eye.

They may also be very useful for symptoms of dry eye that are the side-effect of a medical treatment.

Suitable for contact lens users

These drops are compatible with all types of contact lens as they moisten and rewet them constantly, making them easier to insert or remove and also making them much more comfortable to wear.

The importance of the dual formula

This product’s dual formula, with two humectants at high concentration (hyaluronic acid (0.30%) and hydroxyethylcellulose (0.10%)), provides intense and persistent hydration.

Hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally present in the eye, also has a great capacity for retaining water, giving the drops outstanding humectant properties. The high concentration of hyaluronic acid in this formula (0.30%) means that the eye is provided with an intense moisturizing film, which gives lasting relief.

Hydroxyethylcellulose is a thickener of plant origin with great viscosifying and bioadhesive power. Its presence in the formula increases the viscosity of the drops and prolongs the time they remain in the eye.

A synergy exists between the hyaluronic acid and the hydroxyethylcellulose. The latter acts as a barrier protecting the eye surface and allowing the hyaluronic acid to intensify its moisturizing action. The combination of these two humectants offers immediate and long-lasting hydration and lubrication.

Indications

These eye drops give fast and long-lasting relief for the symptoms of moderate to severe dry eye, such as stinging, a sensation of dry, tired or irritated eyes or of a foreign body, or excessively watery eyes. Such discomfort can be caused by a number of factors such as prolonged computer, tablet or cellphone use, spending time in a very dry atmosphere such as shopping centres and heated or air-conditioned places, wind, pollution, dust and also certain hormonal imbalances (such as the menopause).

Use of this product is recommended in the following situations:

When performing activities that involve eye strain, such as working in front of a digital screen or reading for long periods.
When spending long periods in heated or air-conditioned places.
On long-distance travel (by plane, car or other means of transport).
When spending a long time in a smoky or polluted environment.
In situations in which the eyes are in contact with sand or dust, such as on the beach or in a desert.
When wearing contact lenses because these drops considerably improve comfort during use and also make it easier to insert and remove the lenses, thanks to their lubricant properties.
In the case of hormonal imbalance resulting in symptoms of dry eye (such as the menopause).

Instructions for use

These moisturizing drops are presented in convenient single-use 0.35 ml vials, without preservatives.

Remove the single-use vial from the strip.
Twist off the top to open the single-dose vial.
Lean your head back slightly, then use a finger on your free hand to gently pull the lower eyelid downwards. Place the single-use vial in vertical position above the eye with the open tip facing down and press to release one or two drops into each eye.
Blink so that the drop spreads all over the ocular surface.

If you are a contact lens user, you can apply the product into your eyes while wearing your lenses. This will considerably increase your comfort. Or you can add one or two drops before inserting the lenses and after removing them to make them easier to handle.

Precautions

Do not use if the pack is broken or damaged.
When using the product, do not let the tip of the single-dose vial touch your eye.
To avoid any possible contamination of the solution, make sure the open tip of the single-use vial does not enter into contact with your eye, with your fingers or with other surfaces.
Since the content of the vial contains no preservatives, it must be used immediately after opening. Any solution left over may become contaminated and amount to a risk for the eye.
Always respect the date of expiry given on the vial or the packaging.
In the case of persistent irritation, do not continue using the product and consult your eye professional. You may be allergic to one of its components.
In most cases, the product does not cause blurred vision. If it does arise, it will be only momentary and will clear immediately.
Any serious incident related to the product should be reported to the manufacturer and the appropriate authorities in the country where the user lives.
Keep the pack out of the reach of children.
If you also use other drops or eye washes, we recommend you consult your doctor before applying these tears.

When discarding the product, remember that each component should be deposited in the appropriate container to facilitate recycling.

Composition

Buffered saline hypotonic solution containing 0.30% sodium hyaluronate, 0.10% hydroxyethylcellulose, boric acid, sodium tetraborate and 0.02% disodium edetate in purified water.
